Many people have problems with Schwinn ellipticals because of the fact that they are mostly pretty cheaply made. With the exception of the Schwinn 460, the rest of the ellipticals do not feel very sturdy and the warranty is not much better.

While the weight of the elliptical being light makes it easy for you to move them around your house, it also drastically reduces the sturdiness of the elliptical itself. Some users report squeaks and a wobbles when running on their elliptical after a few months time.

Comapred to other elliptical trainer companies, the Schwinn warranty is terrible. While most companies have a 5 year plus (sometimes even lifetime) warranty on the frame and braking system, Schwinn does not. Also most companies have 5 year warrantys on labor and Schwinn is only 90 days. What are the chances of you needing to take advantage of warranty within 3 months anyways? They mine as well not include one.

With that being said when it comes to buying a Schwinn Elliptical we still recommend the 460 or even the 431 to those looking for a starter elliptical to get them into exercising and losing weight.
